A group of people holding certificates of completion for the Kairos course.

I have had the privilege of knowing Anya and Alyssa for a few years now. I met them while they were both still in high school and impressively leading as experienced facilitators for the Kairos course within their church. They were actively involved in praying for the nations with their youth group that met on Friday nights, and played a pivotal role for birthing and launching the idea of Kids’ Kairos.

Now in college, both currently serve as Youth Advisors for the National Coordination Team for Simply Mobilizing USA. They recently finished partnering in leading their first Kairos course as SMUSA's youngest Head Facilitators. Anya and Alyssa are remarkable young women who carry the call of mobilization with grace and mature youthful zeal. Each exemplify answering the call to their generation for what living a life on mission with God is truly about.

Anyone who has become a Head Facilitator for Kairos understands the journey is one of committed obedience, humility, and faith. Here is what they each had to say regarding their first experience that in my opinion; gives honor to the Lord, models Kairos principles and SMUSA values, and is relatable to anyone on the same journey regardless of age.

"Watching this course unfold was a beautiful display of God’s hand and mercy in action. While the first few weeks gave our team some unique puzzles to solve, those moments were actually a perfect setup for us to grow into our roles as Head Facilitators. It was a massive win to see the entire team—from our dedicated facilitators to our incredible participants—work so hard and finish strong. Seeing the course transform into something that truly glorified God was such a blessing, and I am so proud of the momentum we built together.

For me personally, there is nothing quite like the joy of seeing others mobilized to live life on mission in such an active and exciting way. Getting to serve our team and participants brought so much energy to my daily life, but the real highlight was the partnership I shared with Alyssa. She was an absolute rockstar; her intentionality in the areas where I am weakest made this course so much better than it ever could have been alone. Thank you, Alyssa, for being such a brilliant partner, and thank you to our team and participants for making this experience a success!"

"Running our first Kairos course was nothing like what I had anticipated. Though I had helped with many Kairos courses in the past, stepping into the role of the Head Facilitator and learning how to lead a team well was an entirely new experience. It brought both unexpected challenges and deep joys.

The position demands more: more to remember, more to delegate, and far more trust in God as you navigate unknowns and curveballs that arise along the way. Anya and I finished the course with a fresh perspective on what godly leadership looks like, along with plenty of ideas and principles we’re eager to implement in our future courses. But above everything else, the biggest lesson I walked away with was this: your team is everything.

In Simply Mobilizing, we believe that as Head Facilitators, our primary role is to serve our facilitators. They carry most of the front-facing work, and our job is to equip and support them so they can minister at their very best. As I watched our team week after week—getting up on stage, delivering powerful presentations, and rocking every component—I became overwhelmed with gratitude for these people. I'm getting to do what I love alongside such amazing, humble, and extremely talented people, and that is such a blessing.

Not only that, but I have the most wonderful partnership and friendship with my co-Head Facilitator, Anya. She is a fantastic leader with so much heart, knowledge, and strength. I love how well we complement each other in so many ways, and that we can use our giftings to fill in where the other is weaker so that we are stronger overall. Together, we saw God move in beautiful ways through our team and our participants. Leading this first course reminded me that leadership isn’t about doing it all yourself but instead is about creating space for others to step into what God is calling them to do. I’m so grateful for every member of our team, and I look forward to the next Kairos with an even greater expectation of what God will do through us!"

This is just a part of their story that we intend to share. In the meantime, check out the behind the scenes testimony from when they took their Head Facilitator training in Sacramento, CA back in April of 2024.

Do you have youth that you can mobilize and mentor? As a National Team, we value this generation of young leaders and continue to pray for more to be mobilized and join the movement.
